LAS VEGAS (Feb. 28, 2022) – Throughout 2022, Credit One Bank - one of the fastest-growing credit card issuers in the United States and a pillar in the Las Vegas community - invested more than $11 million in the community, including charitable grants totaling $3.5 million to non-profits and more than $8 million for a bond program, which provides loans for low to moderate income homes or projects. This continues the Bank’s long-standing commitment to serve and give back to the Southern Nevada community through donations of time, resources and funding.
Credit One Bank’s philanthropic efforts are centered around the company’s three ‘pillars of giving,’ affordable housing and homelessness, employment services and financial education. 2022 saw Credit One Bank donate grants ranging from $25,000 to $500,000 to organizations such as Las Vegas Rescue Mission, U.S. VETS, HELP of Southern Nevada, Opportunity Village, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and more.
In addition to investing $3.5 million in charities, Credit One Bank also has $8 million invested with a community bond program that is used to distribute funds for low to moderate income families purchasing homes or low to moderate income projects in the community.
“We are thrilled at Credit One Bank to continue our long-standing commitment to contributing time and efforts to create a lasting impact on the Southern Nevada community and beyond,” said Lenny Chide, Community Reinvestment Officer at Credit One Bank. “Being part of a team that has come together to give back to the Las Vegas community has been nothing short of incredible. We’re looking forward to continuing to support the community that we have called home for almost four decades.”
Employees at every level and department from the Bank participated in fundraising and volunteer initiatives during the year. The Bank once again participated in Communities in Schools of Nevada’s annual school supply drive, Fill the Bus, donating more than 6,000 school supplies and even rappelled down the side of a Las Vegas resort for financial education during Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada’s ‘Over the Edge’ event. To close out the year, the team continued their participation in the annual KLUC 98.5 Chet Buchanan Show Toy Drive donating over 500 toys and more, among many other events throughout the community.
2022 also marked the Bank’s second annual ‘One for the Community’ program, an initiative in partnership with the Las Vegas Raiders. Throughout the Raiders season, Credit One Bank donated $2,000 to After-School All-Stars and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada for each of the successful extra points kicked throughout the regular season made by Raiders four-time AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, Daniel Carlson. Over the course of the season, Carlson raised $70,000, $10,000 more than the 2021 season and again Credit One Bank stepped in and donated an additional $30,000, making the grand total $100,000 divided evenly between After-School All-Stars and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.
