Employees of Credit One Bank are bringing the spirit of the holiday season to the Las Vegas community. The 500 Las Vegas-based employees of Credit One Bank, one of the largest and fastest growing issuers of credit cards in the United States, have participated in several fund raising and volunteer initiatives to support the community in which they live and work. In 2016 alone, Credit One employees have donated more than $20,000 and in excess of 1,000 volunteer hours to numerous local charities through charity walks, casual weeks, serving dinner, board meetings and other initiatives.
Credit One Bank employees recently raised $3,575 for U.S.VETS-Las Vegas, a local nonprofit that provides transitional and permanent housing along with employment services to veterans living in Las Vegas. Earlier this year, Credit One partnered with HomeAid Southern Nevada to remodel the service kitchen at the U.S.VETS-Las Vegas residential facility. While the remodel progresses, Credit One Bank employees also volunteered to serve dinner to the veterans who rely on the meals and services provided each day.
Additionally, Credit One Bank employees donated the proceeds of their November casual week to 98.5 KLUC’s 18th Annual Chet Buchanan & the Morning Zoo Toy Drive, benefitting HELP of Southern Nevada, a local nonprofit organization that provides services to the homeless and those in crisis. In addition to the cash donation, employees also stepped up to collect toys and bikes to make the holidays extra special for children in the community.
“We love the Las Vegas community and are proud to help support local organizations, but it means much more when the giving comes directly from our employees,” says Laura Faulkner, vice president of marketing communications, Credit One Bank. “We thank our employees for going above and beyond, working hard every day, and going the extra mile to give back to our community.”
A member of the Las Vegas community for nearly 20 years, Credit One Bank has donated more than $3 million to support the affordable housing needs of Clark County’s low to moderate income residents. In 2015, Credit One Bank donated $840,000 to more than 20 community partners including Las Vegas Rescue Mission, The Shade Tree, and HomeAid Southern Nevada, and is on pace to exceed those contributions in 2016.
