Through its partnership with the Golden Knights Foundation, Credit One Bank has donated over $100,000 to local nonprofits committed to ending homelessness in Las Vegas.
The five nonprofits that received the donations were Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada, Family Promise of Las Vegas and The Shade Tree.
Those interested in the fight against homelessness can make a donation with Golden Knights Foundation or any of the listed charities.
Additionally, Credit One Bank and the Vegas Golden Knights donated their time and service to the community. In December 2017, employees of Credit One Bank and Reid Duke, Center for the Vegas Golden Knights, helped serve lunch at Las Vegas Rescue Mission, and in March, Credit One Bank hosted a skating event for Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth featuring Vegas Golden Knights mascot, Chance, at City National Arena.
“We’re grateful that our partnership with Vegas Golden Knights has had an immediate and meaningful impact on our community through both financial contributions and unique experiences,” said Amy Chasey, assistant vice president of public relations at Credit One Bank. “We are looking forward to how we can give back even more next season.”
51/49 raffles and silent auctions held at select Vegas Golden Knights games throughout the season contributed to half of the funds raised for the donations. For each nonprofit, Credit One Bank matched the total amount raised.
The Golden Knights Foundation serves as the Vegas Golden Knights’ main charitable beneficiary and raises money through various fundraisers and in-game efforts to provide a positive philanthropic impact on the greater Las Vegas community and beyond. Acknowledging the important role our team plays in strengthening Las Vegas communities, the Foundation is focused on delivering maximum community impact by building effective programs and partnerships. Our players, coaches and staff enthusiastically lead the way in supporting community development efforts and setting the example for our loyal fans. The ultimate objective with our support efforts is to inspire our fan base to become agents of growth and change throughout Las Vegas. NPHY began in 2000 when a group of concerned community members formed a coalition to address the growing problem of unaccompanied homeless youth in the Las Vegas Valley. Confronting legal barriers preventing homeless youth from accessing life-saving services, the group successfully fought to get the landmark “Right to Shelter” law passed by the Nevada Legislature in 2001. Today, this law still makes it possible for abused and neglected unaccompanied homeless minors to receive critical services they might otherwise not be able to access. Since then, NPHY has grown from a small citizen coalition to the most comprehensive service provider for homeless youth in Nevada, bringing resources, safety and well-being to thousands of homeless youth each year.
