What is a Revolving Balance?

The amount owed on a credit card that is unpaid at the end of a billing cycle. This amount carries over to the next billing cycle, accruing interest on it and any other purchases made with the card. The revolving balance changes each billing cycle, depending on how many more purchases have been made and how much of the outstanding balance the cardholder pays off.
